New macbook air 13 and 15 inch WWDC 2023

Apple recently introduced the newest member of its MacBook Air lineup: a 15-inch model equipped with the powerful M2 chip. With the addition of this larger model, consumers now have more reasons than ever to choose Air, a laptop series celebrated for its blazing-fast performance and ultraportable design.

Design

The new MacBook Air is all about choice. Available in 13 and 15-inch sizes, both models are incredibly lightweight and measure just under half an inch thin, making them perfect companions for those on the move. The larger 15-inch MacBook Air features a spacious Liquid Retina display, opening up more room for productivity, creativity, and entertainment.

Apple’s commitment to environmental sustainability is reflected in the MacBook Air’s construction. The enclosure is crafted from 100 percent recycled aluminum, demonstrating the tech giant’s dedication to reducing its carbon footprint. Furthermore, a fanless design ensures the laptop remains silent, even when tackling intensive workloads.

Consumers can also express their individuality through color. The MacBook Air is available in four stunning hues, each option coming with a matching MagSafe charging cable.

Performance

The MacBook Air’s impressive performance is powered by the M2 chip. This iteration is up to 1.4 times faster than its M1 predecessor and up to 12 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air. The result is an incredibly smooth experience, whether editing videos, collaborating on business plans, or simply streaming a show while shopping online.

The M2 chip doesn’t just bring speed – it also offers longevity. Users can expect up to 18 hours of battery life, allowing them to leave their power adapter at home and enjoy their MacBook Air all day.

M2 Chip

The M2 chip stands as a testament to Apple’s innovation in silicon design. Built using an enhanced second-generation 5-nanometer technology, it packs over 20 billion transistors – 25 percent more than the M1 chip. It also includes a 16-core Neural Engine capable of executing up to 15.8 trillion operations per second, accelerating machine learning tasks.

The chip’s 8-core CPU is up to 18 percent faster than the M1, which means users can efficiently manage everyday tasks and more demanding workloads. The M2 also features up to a 10-core GPU, delivering a significant boost in graphics performance – up to 35 percent faster than the M1. This makes tasks like color correcting photos or editing 4K and 8K videos faster and smoother.

Availability

The 15-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip will be available starting from June 13. With the power of the M2 chip and a larger display, the new MacBook Air 15-inch offers a compelling blend of performance, portability, and design.
